What started as a personal interest in understanding the atmosphere has grown into an ongoing effort to document weather events, gather field observations, and provide reliable storm-related information.

Every observation, report, and dataset published through this project is carefully collected and reviewed with accuracy in mind. From monitoring developing weather situations to documenting severe storms and analyzing meteorological data, the goal is to contribute meaningful information that helps improve awareness and understanding of dangerous weather.

Although currently operated by a single individual, this project is built on a vision of growth, collaboration, and continuous learning. As the project expands, opportunities for additional contributors, observers, and weather enthusiasts may help further strengthen its capabilities and coverage.

Above all, the mission remains the same: to pursue accurate storm documentation, support weather awareness, and share valuable data with those who have the same passion for understanding the power of nature.

About us

TornadoData.Net is an independent atmospheric research initiative based in Dixie Alley and dedicated to advancing the understanding of tornadoes through direct field observation and data collection. The project focuses on gathering ground-level tornado data using specialized instrumentation deployed in and around severe weather environments.

Research operations are supported by the TRV Vanguard, the TDN Probe V1 surface instrument, and the S.T.I.N.G.E.R. airborne probe system. Together, these platforms are designed to collect valuable meteorological data that can contribute to a deeper understanding of tornado structure, behavior, and impacts.

Driven by a passion for severe weather research and public education, TornadoData.Net is committed to making tornado information accessible to everyone. We believe that scientific data and weather knowledge should not be locked behind paywalls or difficult-to-access resources. Instead, our goal is to provide freely available data, observations, and educational content that help improve public awareness and understanding of severe weather.
